Green Diamond Blasting Media

HIGH-PERFORMANCE, LOW-DUST ABRASIVE FOR INDUSTRIAL SURFACE PREP

Green Diamond is a high-performance synthetic olivine abrasive engineered for demanding surface preparation applications. Its hard, angular particles provide aggressive cutting action for removing rust, paint, mill scale and other coatings while producing consistent surface profiles.

With a Mohs hardness of approximately 7.1 and a lower specific gravity than many comparable hard abrasives, Green Diamond provides a high volume of abrasive per pound. This can mean greater coverage, fewer refills and less material handling over the course of a project.

Green Diamond can be used for both dry and wet abrasive blasting and is available in multiple grades to produce surface profiles ranging from approximately 1 mil to more than 5 mil.

More Blast Performance per Pound

Green Diamond has a specific gravity of approximately 2.9, making it less dense than many traditional industrial abrasives. For the blaster, that means a 50 lb bag provides more abrasive volume than the same weight of a denser media.

More usable abrasive volume can translate into fewer bags required, fewer pot refills, lower freight costs and less material handling while still delivering the aggressive cutting performance needed for heavy-duty surface preparation.

Less Fugitive Dust Generation Than Other medias

Green Diamond’s durable, amorphous particle structure is designed to break down more slowly during blasting, helping reduce the amount of fines generated during use. Precise particle sizing also helps provide consistent performance while improving visibility compared with higher-dusting abrasives.

Less airborne particulate can also mean less cleanup at the end of the project.

Aggressive, Consistent Cutting

With a hardness of approximately 7.1 Mohs and an angular to sub-angular particle shape, Green Diamond provides the cutting power needed for challenging industrial surface preparation.

Multiple available grades allow operators to select the appropriate abrasive for everything from heavy rust, mill scale and coating removal to lighter profiling, blast cabinets and vapor blasting.
