ClearBlast Rust Inhibitor is a single-component additive that removes surface salts, degreases, and prevents flash rusting for up to 72 hours or longer—even in high-humidity environments. It’s a simple, powerful solution to protect freshly blasted surfaces without hazardous acids or phosphates.

Use it with wet abrasive blasting systems, UHP water jetting, or as a final wash after dry blasting. Just dilute into blast or rinse water and let it do the rest.

HOW TO USE

  • Add to blast water or rinse water at a 100:1 dilution ratio (adjust as needed based on humidity or contamination)
  • After dry blasting, a 50:1 dilution is recommended
  • For degreasing, dilute 50:1 to 25:1
  • After blasting, power wash the surface using inhibitor-treated water to fully remove residual dust and prevent flash rust

Tip:  Avoid hard water sources and prevent water pooling. For best results, blow off excess water with clean, oil-free air.

Yes — simply add the Clearblast Rust Inhibitor to your mix before blasting. This will prevent flash rusting for up to 72 hours, sometimes longer.

BOTH — the ClearBlast Rust Inhibitor can be used as an additive with slurry blasters and poured into the blast pot at the same time you are adding water and media. It can also be used upon completion of blasting. A post-blasting rinse cycle is a quick and easy way to prevent flash rust.

Although water can be used for rinsing purposes after soda blasting, the ClearBlast Rust Inhibitor helps ensure all residue is removed from all surfaces, including hard to reach areas. the ClearBlast Rust Inhibitor is a wonderful salt and chloride remover, so using it can help speed up any rinsing process and also prevents flash rusting of steel and iron.

ClearBlast Rust Inhibitor is classified as non-hazardous, non-toxic, biodegradable, phosphate and acid-free, non-flammable and leaves behind no residue. This product can also be used in FDA and USDA regulated facilities and fully complies with 21 CFR 178.3400. When we ship out the ClearBlast Rust Inhibitor to our customers, it goes out as a standard shipment with no special handling is required.

A little ClearBlast Rust Inhibitor goes a long way — the recommended usage ratio is usually 100:1. Usually one gallon is plenty to rinse one car. For larger projects, we also carry large quantities!
